TIPTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
WI-FI HOTSPOTS
ALWAYS NEW.
ALWAYS CONNECTED.
Online Anywhere.
You can use your TCPL library card to check out a device called a hotspot to connect to the internet for free? A hotspot provides a link to the internet from anyplace you plug it in.
What is a hotspot?
Hotspots can connect your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other device to the internet through Wi-Fi. While you have a hotspot checked out there is no charge for the internet used by devices connected to the hotspot’s Wi-Fi.
How to checkout:
- Patrons must be 13 years of age or older.
- Eligible cardholders may borrow one device per household for up to 14 days.
- Hotspots may be placed on hold, but the library reserves the right to cancel a hold if a hotspot has been loaned to a patron’s household (patrons with the same address on file) more than once in a 28-day period.
- Hotspots will be deactivated after the 14-day circulation period has expired.
Damage to Hotspots
The following fees may be assessed for hotspots or related equipment that has been damaged or not returned:
- Hotspot $80.00
- Power Adapter $10.00
- USB Cable $5.00
- Case $10.00
- TOTAL COST $105.00
Other Important Information
A third party provides Internet access, and users are subject to that party’s terms of use. Use of the library’s hotspots implies an agreement to the terms of Tipton County Public Library’s Internet Use and Patron Behavior policies.
Per those policies, the library is not responsible for actions, including, but not limited to:
- Changes or damages done to personal devices related to using this device, or
- Monitoring the Internet use of minors (ages 17 and under) while using a device connected to a hotspot borrowed from the library.
